This role has a particular focus on producing high-quality meals for our campus conferences and events. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering a variety of menu options for events, ensuring excellent food quality, presentation, and service.This hands-on role involves leadership and collaboration within a fast-paced, professional environment. As a Senior Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our food service operations continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our university community, clients, and event organisers.Your skills and experience/Ka Pukeka Me Ka WheakoWe are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:Proven experience as a senior chef, with a focus on event and conference catering.Ideally, fully qualified (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent).Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team in a high-pressure environment.Expertise in preparing high-quality, varied meals, with an understanding of special dietary needs (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, etc.).Experience operating food safety and quality control programs.About Our Team/Mo Te TimaUniversity Catering is a large food operation. We cater over 7500 meals a day to ten University colleges, supply food from our large diverse central production kitchen to five cafes, and to our busy conference and event operations on campus.Further Details/PurokoThis is a permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) position. Hours of work are on a rostered basis, but predominantly Wednesday – Sunday. The appointment range is $30.76 to $32.21 per hour, top of range is $33.66 per hour.You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply.
