Senior Cadastral Surveyor

Details of the offer

Senior Cadastral Surveyor at Land Information New Zealand, Wellington Are you a highly motivated and experienced licensed Cadastral Surveyor?
Do you enjoy solving complex survey problems, and supporting others to do the same?
Do you want to have fun at work and great work/life balance?
Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has an opportunity for a licensed Cadastral Surveyor.
Location preference is in our Hamilton office; however, consideration will be given to suitable candidates in Wellington or Christchurch.
The role of the Property Rights business group includes ensuring surveys being integrated into the cadastre satisfy the regulatory standards set by the Surveyor-General. A team of Customer Regulatory Specialists are trained in this work, supported in their technical knowledge by a group of Cadastral Surveyors.
We are looking for a Cadastral Surveyor with a private sector background to join our team. You will have been actively involved in cadastral surveying and in the day-to-day application of the Cadastral Survey Rules.
As a "go-to" expert for technical survey advice, you will be someone who is passionate about sharing your knowledge with LINZ staff to help build their capability and support their interactions with the survey profession. You will use your experience and knowledge to assist surveyors with complex situations and with first-time compliance with the Rules. You will contribute towards driving continuous improvement, education and ensuring LINZ provides outstanding customer service.
Cadastral Surveyors at LINZ agree that one of the most rewarding parts of the role is "expanding the pool of cadastral survey knowledge and developing the breadth of their own expertise." All this, and no more time sheets, invoicing and debt recovery.
The Survey and Title Compliance Strategy 2024-2027 was published in March 2024. The role of the Property Rights Cadastral Surveyor is likely to evolve over its implementation to help deliver a fair and transparent regulatory system.
Minimum Requirements A Bachelor of Surveying or equivalent and be a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, under the Cadastral Survey Act 2002
Considerable practical surveying experience
Knowledge of survey records, spatial and geodetic systems and processes, including use of Landonline
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong relationship building skills and customer focus
At LINZ we have a strong commitment to promoting work-life balance , while providing a healthy and safe working environment. We need people who are bold, unafraid to learn, try new things and get results. You will also be passionate about connecting your expertise and knowledge with others. We believe we achieve the best outcomes when working together and supporting each other.

As an inclusive and supportive employer, we value difference and want to encourage anyone interested to apply, regardless of whether you tick all the boxes or not. As an organisation we embrace diversity, encourage work life balance and have a flexible approach to the way we work which means you will quickly feel connected and valued.
