Collaborative team environment Support flexible working Fixed term / secondment position to 20th December 2024 Business Transformation and Services (BTS) provides sector leading advice, technical expertise and enabling services across the Ministry. It designs and drives enabling strategies giving effect to our organisational strategic framework and ensures our organisational policies and procedures are effective, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
The Ministry is currently going through a significant period of organisational transformation and is in the process of implementing a new organisational structure and improved operating model that includes our ways of working, performance management, policies, processes, tools and technology.
This work is being managed by the Transformation and Change team within the BTS group.
Mo tenei turangi mahi About this role The Senior Business Analyst will play an important role in enabling the success of the organisational Transformation Programme and requires extensive business transformation and process improvement and reengineering experience, inherent communication capability, a collaborative attitude and business and customer focus.
This role contributes to the effective delivery of the Transformation Programme and supports business change, through the provision of high-quality information, analysis and advice to support the definition, design and documentation of business requirements and processes associated with this priority work across the Ministry.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako Skills and experience Proven experience in eliciting, analysing, documenting, and managing business requirements within complex business improvement and continuous improvement projects or transformation programmes. Experience in process design, improvement and alignment, change impact analysis, and operational models. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with a track record of identifying and addressing complex business challenges. Experience in conducting root cause analysis, risk assessment, and recommending innovative solutions to improve business processes and performance. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including executives, business users, and delivery teams within a high change environment. Ability to understand business and technical concepts and rephrase in terms appropriate to the audience. Experience facilitating workshops, with the ability to ask appropriate questions to discover essential information. Written communication skills including practical technical documentation and the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely. Experience in using a structured approach to gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements, including using tools to assist with the development of the documentation. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with the ability to support planning, tracking, and reporting of business analysis activities. Ability to cope with pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to drive through ambiguity, work flexibly and adapt to directional changes quickly. Understanding and experience with the machinery of government processes, systems and tools. It would be desirable for the holder to have: A business analysis qualification e.g. CBAP Process improvement qualification e.g. Six sigma Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum master, SAFe Membership with professional networks e.g. IIBA Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau Salary range Salary range for this role is $108,976 to $132,277 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
