Reporting to the Assistant Director FM - Property and Campus Services, you will lead the quinquennial building condition surveys, a cornerstone for UC's five-year facilities maintenance plan. Your work will ensure our buildings remain safe, sustainable, and operationally excellent for all users. This role is central to managing UC's estate, providing expert property surveying and management services for owned, leased, and occupied buildings.Your responsibilities will include:Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the development and implementation of property management strategies aligned with UC's goals, including sustainability initiatives and compliance standards.Condition Surveys: Leading risk-based quinquennial building surveys and providing actionable insights for asset lifecycle and maintenance planning.Specialist Assessments: Conducting pre-acquisition and condition surveys, collaborating with specialists to address technical needs such as structural, fire, or acoustic engineering.Commercial Property: Supporting the commercial manager to review the status of occupancy agreements and managing performance metrics.Maintenance Planning: Collaborating with FM teams to develop and execute our long-term maintenance programs, ensuring uptime and compliance.Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with tenants, contractors, and UC teams to meet key performance indicators.You thrive in dynamic environments, combining strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills to interpret complex information and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Proficient in IT systems, you balance technical precision with the ability to oversee diverse property-related challenges.To succeed in this role, you'll bring:Bachelor's degree with Honours or equivalent experience.Chartered and/or registered surveyor qualifications (RICS or NZIBS).A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in a large organisation.Strong knowledge of surveying standards, property management practices, and relevant legislation.Proficiency in interpreting complex data for decision-making.Commitment to upholding tikanga, kawa, and te reo Maori; competency in te reo is an advantage.Proficiency in IT systems, excellent communication, and robust organisational capabilities.An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work WithUC is made up of approximately 150 buildings across 87 hectares, covering a gross floor area of 223,000m2.
