About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Senior Building Inspector, you will be supporting your team members with technical advice and mentoring. You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives to result in effective end to end systems and a better service to customers. You will undertake a variety of tasks across a range of industries including building, plumbing, drainage, planning and property matters.
About you | Ko Koe Tenei The successful applicant will have strong customer service skills with the ability to adjust and communicate effectively with diverse customer groups along with excellent interpersonal skills. Ideally you will also have:
A regulation 18 qualification - you may be working towards this. Find out more about reg 18 hereRES 3 competency.10 years of experience in the building/construction industry, this could be in design, draughting, plumbing, construction, supervision etc.At least 3 years of experience within a Building Consent Authority or similar in New Zealand.While the above is ideal, if you have a 'can do' attitude to life, have the scope to coach and mentor others and are seeking a challenging but rewarding career, we want to hear from you!

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week Position - Permanent Location - This position is primarily based at To Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
