The Role: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Bookkeeper to join our Bookkeeping team in Hawke's Bay. Reporting to the Head of Bookkeeping, this role is crucial in overseeing and improving the performance, productivity, and quality of the team's client work. You'll provide expert bookkeeping services and ensure the consistent achievement of operational KPIs and outstanding client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Team Support: Assist in supervising and providing guidance to team members, leading effective team meetings and training sessions. Operational Delivery: Manage workflow and performance by coordinating and monitoring tasks based on the team's capabilities, and actively participate in process improvements. Bookkeeping Tasks: Perform bank reconciliations, manage invoices and payments, oversee general ledger and fixed asset management, conduct month-end reconciliations, handle payroll activities, and prepare invoices and financial reports. Client Relationships: Foster strong client relationships by providing exceptional service, ensuring smooth client onboarding, and promptly addressing client issues. Project Contributions: Contribute to projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, and maintaining project documentation.Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience: 3/5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a solid understanding of operational KPIs and client service. Skills: Proficiency in bookkeeping software and tools (e.g., Xero). Excellent organizational and team support abilities. Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
