You'll be responsible for taking the lead role in the proactive planning, facilitation and contribution of the delivery of Environment Canterbury's Biosecurity work programme. This will be done through the implementation of the Regional Pest Management Plan and/or a specialised local programme of works, including associated education, surveillance, pest control, investigation, and risk pathway management. You'll ideally bring skills and experience in the following: Identify process improvement opportunities and resolve complex issues Upholding biosecurity compliance with regulations & regional rules Develop and deliver technical and customer service training to staff Assessing infestations, engaging contractors and carrying out controls Costing control operations and management of finance Report writing and producing feedback Establishing and maintaining regional and strategic networks and relationships Your natural calm and organised approach supports the peaks and troughs in this role. You'll be passionate about the environment and enjoy a role that provides you with flexibility. As a natural collaborator you'll be a team player and enjoy liaising with both rural and urban stakeholders, engaging with the community, resource users and runanga to support real change in on-the-ground management of natural resources. You'll bring skills and experience in the following: A relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field Significant experience in biosecurity actions, regulations and stakeholder connections Understanding the principles of Biosecurity rules at regional and national level A full Class 1 driver's licence Our values underpin everything we do.
