Termius is a modern SSH client built for collaboration and productivity. It organizes infrastructure knowledge and helps troubleshoot incidents quickly to reduce costly downtime. Today, our customers include over 30,000 companies, and millions of engineers use Termius to connect to their remote servers. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to complement our team of 35 people and help us make Termius the primary work instrument for many engineers worldwide in their daily routines. Your work will include: Participation in the entire application development lifecycle.Collaboration between different departments: design, dev, QA across multiple time zones.Design, develop, and implement robust backend services using strong engineering principles.Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to translate user needs into technical solutions.Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, scalability, and security.Participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality throughout the codebase.Automate tasks and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows.Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues.Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and trends.Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer.Strong proficiency in Python.Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and building RESTful APIs.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).Solid understanding of system design principles (e.g., scalability, security).Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Fluent English skills: all the docs and most of the communication is in English.Be able to conduct sync meetings around 4-6pm New Zealand Time.Optional but welcomed skills: Experience with SSH protocol and network engineering.Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).What do we offer: A competitive full-time salaried position that includes equity.We provide remote employees with the equipment they need to create a productive remote work environment.A culture that encourages proactiveness, a fail-fast-learn-fast approach, and a sense of ownership.Opportunities to work from New Zealand.To apply, please send us the following: A cover letter introducing yourself and your motivations for wanting to work with us along with your relevant experience.
