The Dodson Performance Service Centre is Auckland's expert for work on performance cars and exotics, serving as the North Shore's go-to for R35 GT-Rs, McLarens, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Mercedes AMGs, Sport VW/Audis, BMW M's, and Evo Xs.
We have a wide array of offerings ranging from standard service and repairs all the way to full engine/gearbox rebuilds and power upgrades, and are New Zealand's expert on DCT transmissions.
Our shop is co-located with Dodson's manufacturing and distribution centre, world-renowned for its overseas sales of high-horsepower DCT transmission products.
Join our close-knit team of 3 technicians on Auckland's North Shore, and be a part of the wider 75-strong Dodson Group.
The senior technician role will report to the workshop manager and will be focused on carrying out service and repairs to a high standard as well as the opportunity to assist in larger projects such as engine and transmission repairs and performance builds.
Candidates with dealership experience or in-depth knowledge in the European car market will be given a strong preference; however, a practical and hardworking technician would thrive in this role and we are willing to provide all relevant training needed to succeed.
The workshop manager is a former dealership technician, we have a clean and structured workshop with a warm overall culture within the Group.
The successful candidate will be: A qualified Mechanic able to work autonomously Willing and able to follow procedures, safety protocols, and instructions Able to work efficiently while focusing on the details A team player with a good attitude Able to remove and rebuild transmissions on various vehicle brands to an exceptional standard (with initial training on the particularly gearboxes that we support) Experience removing and rebuilding engines (preferred, but not required) Service, troubleshooting, and performance upgrades on various vehicle brands to an exceptional standard Test drive customer vehicles as required, ensuring professional and legal requirements are maintained at all times Meet billing hours targets and KPI's Willing and able to give direction to a junior technician Willing and able to field customer inquiries and perform basic quoting, on days when the workshop manager is away (in time, with basic training) Committed to keeping a clean and organized workshop Friendly and helpful with customers All candidates must hold a full, clean NZ driver's license.
We require full New Zealand work rights; candidates must be currently located within New Zealand.
The right candidate would have an opportunity to grow with the company and progress to roles bearing additional responsibilities.
We have plans to continue growing the shop and move it out to its own premises within approximately 12 months.
The role is full-time, 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday (42.5 hrs/week), and must be performed on-site.
We do offer some flexibility in these hours depending on individual circumstance.
Overtime is typically available and is paid at a higher rate.
