Senior Assistant Director, Medtech Cluster, Innovation & Enterprise

The MedTech Cluster is a new initiative at A*STAR, Singapore and is responsible for providing a focal point for the development and integration of cutting-edge MedTech capabilities whilst fostering the MedTech community across A*STAR.

Job Responsibilities:
Identify and analyse key Industry and R&D trends - covering major and emerging MedTech technology areas and clinical applications
Synthesise and succinctly present insights into supporting the design and execution of national RIE medtech strategies and to spearhead the development and execution of A*STAR's MedTech R&D programmes and strategies.
Conduct, review and make recommendations to support executive decision-making towards improving the A*STAR MedTech strategy, technology roadmaps, capabilities and resourcing and processes
Build trusted relationships between management and research performers across A*STAR's research institutes to forge multi-disciplinary collaboration towards synergistic MedTech outcomes
Lead scoping of large multi-party grant proposals (e.g. IAF-PP, Programmatic) and facilitate engagements and collaborations between research partners within A*STAR and the external community
Support project monitoring and mediation to align processes and expectation between relevant stakeholders
Develop a network of relationships with the academic research and clinical community as well as public sector research planning and economic agencies in Singapore
Support A*STAR-wide project and outcomes tracking
Support other operational activities of the Programme Office

Requirements:
MSc or PhD in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or other technical experience in a related medical technology field.
>10 years of working experience in either medical device/Health IT industry, R&D, strategic/corporate planning, life science management consulting or any other relevant roles
Some project management experience is preferred
Possess a good understanding of R&D value chain and requirements in key MedTech markets.
Experience in front-facing engagements dealing with vendors, key accounts, stakeholders.
Possess excellent networking, communication and writing skills.
Demonstrate ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enjoy working in a small team, start-up environment
