Job Title: Senior Analyst - Sector Growth Role type: Permanent, full-time Location: Wellington or Rotorua General Salary Range: D $98,955 to $132,427 depending on skills and experience. Te Uru Rakau - New Zealand Forest Service is looking for a Senior Analyst to help the Sector Growth Team deliver sector investment and bio-economic development initiatives. The Forestry system directorate develops and delivers initiatives, policies, and regulations to support sustainable land management and climate change goals and improve the use of forestry and wood processing resources. You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we deliver the Wood Processing Growth Fund and partner with businesses to scale up supply and demand for bioenergy and bio-chemicals. As part of this role, you will: Connect and influence across government, with the forestry and wood processing sector and key stakeholders. Work to understand all stages of the value chain and its performance - past, present, and future. Advise the Government, sector and MPI on strategy and economic development priorities. Partner to catalyse and accelerate key bio-economic opportunities. You will be interested in growing the forestry and wood processing sector to support New Zealand's economic growth objectives and climate change response. You'll have experience in policy, be well-practiced in advising Ministers and senior leaders, and have a track record of getting things done in government. You will be able to demonstrate: Ability to think critically about how the sector and relevant policies and programmes are performing. Experience developing strategy and policy advice and advising on investments. A strong track record in building relationships, influencing, and engaging in a constructive way. Experience planning and managing projects and workflows and able to use processes to deal with ambiguity and deliver results. You'll enjoy being part of a close team who bring good depth of knowledge from diverse backgrounds. While our focus is developing the forestry and wood processing sector, we work on economic strategy, climate change, energy policy, regulation, international trade, commercial deals, science, research, business analysis, and operational programmes. The team works closely with all parts of the forestry and wood processing value chain across New Zealand, providing wonderful opportunities to travel across New Zealand to see different operations and meet the great people that work in our sector. We comprise a manager, principal adviser, and three senior analysts, spread across Wellington and Rotorua. Career development is a huge part of working in the Sector Growth Team.
