Senior Analyst Operations Assurance and Risk at Electoral Commission, Wellington As the Senior Analyst Operations Assurance and Risk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of the Electoral Commission's risk management strategy and ensuring quality assurance across all electoral processes. Collaborating with the Operations Group and wider teams, you'll be responsible for both pre- and post-election risk assessments and quality assurance activities for all electoral events, including By-Elections and Referenda.
Your role will be essential in advising managers and employees on risk management and assurance practices, while embedding quality assurance across the Commission's operations—from Advance Voting to the Official Results release. This is a grade 18 role and the salary band is $124,061 - $137,845.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage quality assurance across all stages of the election process, ensuring compliance with national standards.
Oversee risk management processes, providing analysis, identifying gaps, and implementing solutions to mitigate risks across electoral phases.
Collaborate with teams to deliver a cohesive assurance practice and drive continuous improvement initiatives for operational quality.
Support the development of election plans and participate in workstreams focused on risk and quality assurance.
Advise senior management on compliance and quality assurance standards, ensuring alignment with risk management strategies.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Commission's Official Results through a detailed QA process.

Demonstrated experience in risk management and quality assurance, preferably within electoral processes or large-scale operations.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor risk and assurance frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to applying its principles in your work.
Experience working in time-sensitive, high-pressure environments, ensuring attention to detail while maintaining a focus on broader organisational goals.
