OPERATIONS DIVISION Mo te tima / About our Team The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is a sector-leading and award-winning high-performing team focused on elevating the University of Otago enterprise-wide project portfolio management capabilities and providing a Centre of Excellence for project management, governance, and benefits management. Since the EPMO's inception in 2018, the team has been integral to the University's growth and project, programme, and portfolio management maturity uplifting journey, culminating in a noteworthy P3M3 Maturity Assessment score of over 3.0 in 2021. This independent report shows the University of Otago is among the best of its kind worldwide at choosing building, IT and transformation projects that will benefit it the most then managing those projects so they produce the expected benefits. In 2024, the EPMO was honoured with the New Zealand PMO of the Year Award, highlighting its recognition at a national level. Te mahi / The role Working in the University's EPMO and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Project Management Office, this role is pivotal in analysing portfolios and empowering leadership with data-driven decisions. You'll champion portfolio management practices, refine processes, and uplift stakeholders' skills. Your efforts will ensure smooth, efficient 3PM operations, maximizing the value of the University's strategic change investments. As a Senior Analyst, you will: Transform complex data into actionable insights for executive decision-making. Unite stakeholders with a clear understanding of portfolio and project management. Maintain high-quality data in the project portfolio management system, crucial for accurate decisions. Develop and implement consistent project frameworks and methodologies. Ensure seamless operation of project, program, and portfolio management (3PM). Deliver project and portfolio quality assurance activities and services. Track portfolio performance with KPIs and detailed status reports. Thrive in a dynamic team, delivering exceptional service while constantly seeking improvement. You'll join a talented group of project portfolio experts, supporting major changes across the University. Ka pukeka me ka wheako / Your skills and experience We are looking for someone with: Experience working in a similar role with a focus on project governance, portfolio, and benefits management. Strong conceptual and technical data analysis skills. Relevant tertiary qualification. Experience working with and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders and facilitating project stakeholders' workshops. Expertise in the Microsoft suite of programmes; particularly in Excel and Visio. That being said, your compatibility with the team will truly set the tone for success. Puroko / Further details This is a full-time (37.5 hours), fixed term position until Feb 2026, located in Dunedin. The salary range is $75,380 to $84,656 per annum. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this job. We offer competitive salary, 5 weeks' annual leave, a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and the ability to achieve real work/life balance.
