Te Tuapae - System Leadership group uses research, analytics, evaluation, insights, and intelligence that provide evidence-based, investment direction to optimise investment decisions as well as informing central and local government's strategic direction and policy.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity The newly created Strategy team within the wider Strategy Team within Te Tuapae - System Leadership group has been established to lead the development of strategic direction and guide the alignment of implementation planning and delivery to help NZTA achieve its purpose and priorities. It also has a role influencing external strategic direction and priorities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join this new team as a Senior Advisor, where you will be providing strategic advice, analysis, project management, and proactive support to the Manager Strategy Development and Enablement, Strategy Directors, the Te Tuapae - System Leadership business group, and the wider NZTA.
You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including preparing briefing papers, analysing material, collating data and information that supports strategy development, and following up on requests for information.
With a multi-outcome, long-term view you will be working across the organisation helping translate strategy into action that will make a tangible difference to improving land transport outcomes.

An understanding of effective strategy design, development, and implementation in a delivery-focused organisationExperience operating in a multi-disciplinary strategic teamStrong accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing, analysing, collating, and distilling information used to inform strategic directionExperience providing strategic advice and the ability to influence operational delivery to improve multiple outcomesExcellent verbal and numerical reasoning, along with advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Strong written and oral communication skills, initiative, and a solution mindsetQualifications: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
