We're here to improve the quality of regulation so all New Zealanders can flourish. We lead the regulatory management system (the set of policies, institutions, processes, and tools employed by central government to pursue and maintain good quality regulation) and contribute to the design and operation of individual regulatory systems. We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.About the roleAs a Senior Advisor in the Regulatory Reviews team, you will play a key role in supporting regulatory reviews and capability-building initiatives within a collaborative operating model that leverages expertise from across the organisation.The group's core functions are to:Uplift regulatory system capability using a variety of interventions and mechanisms.Improve regulation and regulatory systems by undertaking targeted reviews of varying scope and scale.As a key part of the Regulatory Reviews team, you will lead important elements of large-scale regulatory reviews and also own the investigation and resolution of one-off regulatory issues raised by a variety of stakeholders. You will be a smart thinker, able to quickly understand complex issues and articulate a sensible way forward. We have a fun, creative environment where we work collaboratively with stakeholders and across government. With large scale reviews already underway, and more anticipated soon, we are looking for people with a diverse set of skills to support the work we do.Collaborating with a group of advisors at all levels, you will help advance the Ministry's broader initiatives, strategies, and approaches by supporting a variety of work across the reviews and system capability areas.The position functions in a complex and ever-changing environment.
