Our Regulatory Services team is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join the team as a Senior Advisor. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for responding to, coordinating and providing advice on LGOIMA requests. You will provide advice to managers on compliance with the Privacy Act, and act as a conduit between Regulatory Services and other council groups and project teams to ensure necessary input regarding RMA regulatory services.
You will take a lead role in providing advice and input into Regional Plan changes, negotiating and lobbying on behalf of Regulatory Services. Additionally, you will manage key customers and liaise and negotiate with key regulators and stakeholders.
Other responsibilities will also include leading and coordinating Regulatory Services procedures and records for onboarding new staff, training, and key competencies. You will ensure that procedures are updated and communicated to the group when there are changes in relevant legislation and assist in procurement and contract management activities.

Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for someone who can bring the following to our diverse talent pool:
A tertiary qualification relevant to the purpose of the position.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a Regional Council.
Excellent knowledge of Regional Council Resource Management Act functions.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Sound understanding of Maori culture.
Experience in process mapping.
Experience/qualified in government procurement.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft systems e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to transform disputes and potential conflicts into productive discussions in order to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Highly developed problem-solving and negotiating skills.
