Supporting the many projects and programmes of work is our Project Management Office (PMO) which defines and maintains the standards for project and programme management here at Wellington City Council, as well as monitoring and reporting on active projects/programmes.
The team provides a client-based approach to enable our Kaimahi and support their programmes and projects, providing advice and guidance and aid in supporting with monitoring and assurance, coordination of resources and promotion of best practice with respect to programmes, projects, and their delivery.
We now have an exciting opportunity to join this collaborative team as a Senior Advisor. In this role, you will support the team in providing expert guidance and solutions to a variety of project, programme and portfolio management (P3M) issues. You'll champion best practice and play a central role in influencing P3M practice across the council.
You'll have a good grasp of applying project frameworks to achieve results, providing best practice advice, guidance and solutions, and an ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
A snapshot of your day: Maintain a standard set of practices, processes and templates for managing projects consistently and efficiently across WCC.
Support project reporting with a focus on value-added advice, and early identification and resolution of risk and issues.
Support Principal Advisors in the PMO function.
Prepare and provide reporting to senior leadership and elected members as required.
The work the PMO undertakes is both interesting and varied - as well as being vital to the successful delivery of the many exciting projects throughout our capital city. You will be able to learn from a team with a depth and breadth of experience.
Remuneration for this position will be between $98,888 - $122,154.90 depending on skills and experience.
