About the role | Mo te tunga We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Fast-track consenting for a fixed term period to June 2025.
In this role, you will project lead multi-disciplinary teams for applications underthe Fast Track Applications Bill as well as have opportunities to get involved with applications under the Natural and Built Environment Act (NBEA), Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012 (EEZ Act) and Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).
This will include ensuring the successful planning and delivery of application decisions from pre-lodgement to completion, within statutory timeframes and budget, including day to day coaching and oversight of Land and Ocean Applications team Advisors.
In this role, you will also provide or facilitate the provision of objective specialist consenting process expertise and advice to Ministers, decision-making bodies, the Environment Court, Councils and others for applications under the relevant legislation.

A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area of expertise, (e.g.
environmental management/analysis, science, public policy, economics, or law).
A planning qualification is desirable.
Strong ability to clearly communicate and convey complex or highly technical information.
Proven experience/or aptitude for operating regulatory systems, preferably in the management of natural resources.
Experience working with different stakeholders/users at all levels across government, the public and private sectors The ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of complex regulatory issues Experience of mentoring and developing others.
Have the ability to work, and deliver, under pressure, set priorities, and achieve results in tight deadlines A NZ drivers' licence and the ability to travel overnight for work occasionally.

$97,738 - $146,608 per annum (midpoint $122,173) This is the full salary range.
