Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the National Manager - Emergency Management on an ambitious work programme.
Facilitate the development, implementation, and embedding of the Ministry's incident and emergency management arrangements.
Test arrangements with business groups to ensure plans are properly socialised and referenced in response to potential incidents.
Critically assess and provide credible suggestions for continuous improvement.
Build people capability to respond effectively to incidents.
Skills and Experience Required:
Extensive experience in emergency and incident management and business continuity planning, including certification and/or training (e.g., CBCI, CIMS training, EM qualification).
Superior relationship management, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
Sound understanding of New Zealand's National Security System.
Demonstrable experience in managing significant programmes of work.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to think analytically and express ideas clearly.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to work at all levels within the organisation, including with senior management.
Ability to balance team collaboration with independent work when necessary.
Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance at Secret level.
