Senior Advisor Community Readiness, Recovery & Relief – Wellington - Fixed Term Mo tenei turanga - About the role: The Senior Advisor Community Readiness, Recovery & Relief plays a pivotal role as a conduit between Fire and Emergency and the communities we support.
There is significant emphasis on the development and management of relationships to be successful in this role.
The role is focused on supporting the delivery of our readiness and recovery functions through establishing and maintaining key networks within Fire and Emergency and our key partners and agencies in a more targeted and effective manner.
Helping build the understanding of how readiness, recovery and relief works with the other two Rs – Risk Reduction and Response by coaching and mentoring other team members to build their capability and understanding.
Working to create a mindset change about the importance of recovery and understanding of working within the environments of recovery across all 4R's.
Looking for opportunities within other teams across the organisation to ensure readiness, recovery and relief are included in their work where applicable.
Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role: We are looking for an agile person who is happy working from the office some days or some days in the districts.
The role includes: Coaching, mentoring, and supporting Community Readiness and Recovery Teams, and District Leadership Teams to build their capability and provide them with opportunities to broaden their Recovery and Relief experience.
Working with Districts to foster connections in the community and support local leaders to build relationships and engage our key partners and community groups.
Proactively working with and supporting districts to understand the community mapping and stakeholder analysis process to help identify risk.
Engage with communities to identify, assess and monitor their risks and needs in order to build their readiness and enhance their ability to recover from fires.
Work collaboratively with iwi and tangata whenua to strengthen relationships and improve relevant outcomes for Maori.
Working closely with districts to identify and build relationships with key community stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will: Understand working within the 4Rs and Fire and Emergency's approach to Recovery and Relief.
Understanding of the principles of behaviour change to build readiness and resilience.
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Have a full clean driver licence.
The salary range for this role is $104,929 - $116,588 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
