Senior Advisor Communications at Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Wellington Join a collaborative team focused on improving housing outcomes Create compelling, user-focused, accessible content for our audiences Permanent role located opposite Wellington train station, flexi working This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Advisor Communications to join a busy, supportive, fun-loving Communications Team. Your role will focus on all aspects of core communications (both internal and external) while requiring some knowledge and experience of digital communications. Mo te tunga | About the role This role provides quality, proactive and trusted communications advice, and services both internally and externally of the organisation. An important part of this role is leading the development and implementation of a digital strategy for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This role is also responsible for providing user-focused digital and content support across our digital channels including the HUD website, intranet and social media platforms. You will also support external communications initiatives, including aspects of the Government's policy and delivery programme in housing. We are looking for someone with a collaborative working style, who is a great team player and has a range of communications skills and knowledge of the public sector. You'll be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines in a complex environment. What you'll bring to the role: Demonstrated experience in a communications role, ideally in the public sector Knowledge of and experience in developing and implementing communications plans Some expertise in developing and implementing digital communications strategies, standards, policies and processes Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing, editing and proof-reading content for internal and external channels, including websites, intranets, newsletters, and social media. Experience in digital publication and knowledge of website platforms Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors Knowledge and understanding of Government web standards and web content best practice, including accessibility, search engine optimisation and plain language Strong project and time management skills - able to handle competing priorities including BAU and project work involving implementation of website enhancements Understanding of user experience principles and best practice Practical experience with content management systems (preferably Silverstripe) and M365 products Mo matou | About us Te Tuapapa Kura Kainga reflects the intention of 'the foundation for a treasured home'.
