Senior Advisor Communications and Engagement Permanent, Full-Time Role (37.5 hours per week) Based in either Wellington or Christchurch At New Zealand Red Cross, we are here for humanity.
In this role, you'll be the communications and engagement advisor for one of our general managers and their portfolio of services.
While each portfolio is different, all require a strategic, multi-channel approach to deliver a high-quality communications service.
About the role – Korero mo te turanga Be part of a small, dynamic and high-performing team providing subject matter expertise and strategic leadership to a large and busy organisation.Be the lead communications and engagement specialist for a portfolio within the organisation.Develop innovative communications and engagement strategies and plans, content (written, video and image) to engage diverse audiences across multiple channels.Leverage your skills and experience to improve our channels and external communications.Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing your expertise to meet organisational needs and build team capability.To be successful you will have: An expert understanding of how communications and engagement drive business performance and create meaningful impact.Real strengths in people leadership, relationship building and stakeholder management – a passion for developing meaningful connections while maintaining a clear focus on long-term objectives.Proven experience developing and implementing successful communications and engagement strategies and plans.A track record of professional success, demonstrating the confidence to challenge thinking and clearly articulate ideas.The ability to travel domestically at short notice to collect content, stay calm under pressure, and contribute to effective communication in dynamic and evolving situations.Experience in creating and editing content tailored to various channels including media, web, social media with sharp proofreading skills.A tertiary qualification in journalism, communications or other relevant field and/or at least 5-10 years' experience working in a communications, engagement or media role.About the New Zealand Red Cross New Zealand Red Cross is part of the world's largest humanitarian network, with over 10,000 members and staff dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity and increasing community resilience.
