Mo te tunga | About the role
National Road Policing Centre (NRPC) is an essential part of the road safety sector and provides important services to the Commissioner, Police Executive and Districts in respect of delivery of road safety prevention, education and enforcement activities.

NRPC vision is to be known as a trusted and sought after leader in Road Safety, with a purpose to lead Police and work alongside sector partners to reduce Deaths and Serious Injuries on our roads.

This role is part of the Strategy and Finance team, responsible for leading and developing key strategies that align to Our Business, the Government Road Safety strategy and to implement those strategies through effective use of information (including financial data) to support high performance. They lead the preparation of the Road Safety Investment Programme, which underpins the delivery of Police's road safety activities across New Zealand and supports sound investment decisions.

With a changing environment across the sector, the NRPC are looking for a highly motivated person with previous experience, adept at being agile and being a "path finder" as we develop strategies, performance reporting and new governance structures.

Key Accountabilities:
Supporting the development and implementation of strategies that enable the delivery of District Road policing activities supported by performance data.
Reviewing work programmes and strategies to ensure that they are aligned to the Government Road Safety Strategy, Road Safety Investment Programme and to Our Business.
Providing regular performance reporting.
Supporting the development and preparation of Road Safety Investment Programme - Investment Case.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and collaboratively across several work groups within and external to NRPC. They will also be able to demonstrate:

Experience in working in strategic business contexts and/or experience within a central government environment.
Proven experience in preparing strategic documents and reports for Ministers, Police Executive or external agencies.
Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships across a range of stakeholders.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including critical thinking.

Successful applicant must reside in Wellington.

Utu a-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
