Nga kawenga | About the role As the Senior Adviser Talent in the Talent & Career Pathways team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of talent management and career development within Ara Poutama Aotearoa, and across the wider public service.
You will work alongside the Principal Adviser to design, develop, and implement frameworks, systems, and processes that underpin talent management and career pathways.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful initiatives that will help support our people to achieve their career aspirations!
Some of your day-to-day activities will include:
Supporting talent management discussions, facilitating career coaching conversations, and sourcing solutions that enable staff to grow and thrive in their roles.Managing the logistics of Ara Poutama Aotearoa's career board cohort, supporting secondment mobility programmes and equitable access to career development opportunities.Contributing to innovative improvements in our talent management practices such as large-scale talent identification and mapping.We're seeking someone with a warm and approachable nature, who has a love of being innovative, and the curiosity to ask thoughtful questions to understand diverse perspectives.

Demonstrated experience in talent management and career development conversations.Excellent written, verbal communication, and facilitation skills.The ability to build authentic and trusted relationships and maintain them.A strong appetite to work with data and complex information to make well-reasoned decisions, produce insights, and tell meaningful business stories.Strong level of cultural capability and awareness, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.Experience in the design, development, and implementation of organisational development initiatives with a focus on inclusion and diversity.The mid-point of the salary range is $119,013 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $101,162 - $142,816 per annum.
Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
