In this operational role you will play a part in delivering the Government's vision to provide an advisory service within the forest industry.Your key responsibilities for this role will include: Undertaking field work supporting delivery of a range of forestry and land management related initiatives including the Afforestation Grant Scheme (AGS) and the Erosion Control Funding Programme (ECFP), and any applicable land management grant schemes provided through Te Uru Rakau - New Zealand Forest Service.Ensure accurate and timely reports are prepared for the directorate and wider Ministry on field work initiatives undertaken on their behalf.Building and sustaining positive working relationships with internal (MPI) and external stakeholders, through scheme outreach initiatives and the provision of forestry and land management information.Supporting Te Uru Rakau - New Zealand Forest Service in local engagement and outreach activities.
About You¦MouWe are looking for someone that is passionate about trees, forestry, and land management.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following attributes: Be experienced in managing and delivering projects, strong written communication skills and good time-management skills.Have an ability to gather, organise, and communicate information.
This includes being able to quickly understand the nature of problems, identify a range of possible solutions (including their implications), form conclusions and provide advice.Experience in establishing and effectively maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, Maori, and Government agencies.You will need to have a good level of fitness, enjoy the outdoors and be equally capable of working alone or part of a team.You will be required to travel for undertaking both work and training purposes, so must have the ability to be away in remote locations for short periods of time as required.
