Salary band & range: General Salary Range D: $98,955 to $115,691 depending on skills and experience
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to New Zealand Food Safety's emerging risk approach and provide analysis & insights to better identify emerging food safety risks to the New Zealand public.
This role is an exciting mix of discovery, analysis, strategy, and process implementation. You will work to support critical relationships with stakeholders and partner organisations. You'll stay aware of emerging issues and ensure a collaborative approach that leverages all knowledge and channels across the domestic and international food safety systems.
This role provides you with the opportunity to:
Demonstrate your rapid mastery of technical information, when it is available, and your ability to operate effectively when information is limited or uncertainShowcase your strategic and thought leadership within New Zealand Food Safety I Haumaru Kai Aotearoa (NZFS), and wider Ministry for Primary Industries I Manatü Ahu Matua (MPI)Demonstrate your strong analytical skills and ability to link disparate information to glean new insightsTo be successful in this role, you'll need:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDeep understanding of perspective, bias, and source-criticismExperience in providing advice that supports decisionsWell-honed written communication skillsA relentless curiosity and creativity in linking new information to real-world outcomes.The team provides insights, underpinned by science and evidence-based analysis, on emerging and re-emerging risks related to food safety to assist decision-makers in managing food safety risk. We sit within the Food Risk Management directorate within NZFS, a business unit of MPI. NZFS leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the regulatory and compliance system that underpins our impressive food economy. Ensuring producers and growers have the best opportunities to thrive and grow their business leads through to having consumers have the knowledge that the food in front of them is safe, sustainable and the best product for them, their whänau and friends.
