Management Accounting & Budgeting (Accounting)
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Palmerston North. This role offers an exciting opportunity to undertake senior level accounting functions and facilitate the efficient operation of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, annual accounting and compliance, workflow management, service and business development, and team leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 4-5 years of Public Practice experience and proven experience with relevant accounting software packages.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Accountant, your role will be multifaceted. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and articulating the value of our services. You will also review work assigned to other team members, supporting Directors in various tasks. Your responsibilities will also include preparing proposals for services, supporting sales and marketing departments in implementing projects, identifying opportunities for additional services, selling these services, and communicating expectations and job requirements clearly to team members.
Manage primary contact for clients and understand their needs
Monitor scope of work and fees and advise clients of changes
Review work assigned to other team members and support Directors
Prepare proposals for services and support sales and marketing departments to implement projects
Identify opportunities for additional services and sell these services
Communicate expectations and job requirements clearly to team members
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in public practice, along with proficiency in relevant accounting software packages. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Your planning and organisational skills will ensure that you can manage a diverse workload effectively. A high degree of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail are essential in this role.
Minimum of 4-5 years of Public Practice experience
Proven experience with relevant accounting software packages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
