The Role EHS Support is seeking a highly motivated, detailed oriented Senior Accountant with prior consulting or service-based experience to join our dynamic team.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will assist with the supervision of the Accountant and Project Accountant team members.
This role will assist in maintaining the financial health of projects by assisting project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
You will have the opportunity to work with individuals across multiple services areas and multiple countries.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial goals align with project milestones and deliverables.
Develop and implement training programs focused on enhancing project managers' financial acumen.
Prepare and analyze financial metrics in accordance with US GAAP.
Ensure all financial transactions are appropriately recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner.
Ability to investigate and correct technical accounting disparities.
Prepare journal entries and review journal entries prepared by staff.
Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations and perform detailed analysis on general ledger accounts.
Assist in generating year end information for annual tax return and compiled statement preparation by outside accounting firm.
Assist in preparation of information for outside audit requirements where necessary.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of variance analysis statements.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain and process the general ledger impacts of multiple payroll processes across four geographic areas.
Oversee staff accountants and their job responsibilities.
Oversee the posting and maintenance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, bank reconciliation functions (foreign and domestic).
Build relationships with colleagues to gain a clear understanding of the business underlying the numbers to support analysis.
Oversee proper disposition of intercompany multi-currency activities.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives and operational improvements.
Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project accounting in a consulting or similar environment.
Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel and accounting systems/applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels and work cohesively with team members and internal stakeholders.
Possess good judgement, organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to process information quickly.
Ability to maintain discretion with handling confidential materials.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Audit or Finance.
Highly Qualified Candidates Experience with ERP systems, specifically Deltek Vantagepoint.
Experience supporting operations teams and managers.
Experience with contracts and insurance management.
