With plans for continued business growth, they want to strengthen their finance team (of 10) by appointing an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Whangarei based team. It will be their responsibility to ensure the group meets all accounting and tax-related regulatory and compliance requirements, while also working closely with the CFO on key financial projects.

The Role in More Detail: Reporting: Prepare monthly group consolidated accounts for the Board and investors.Prepare Financials: Preparation of annual financial statements for all entities.IRFS Project: Assist with the transition to IFRS-compliant accounts.Tax Compliance: Ensure that regulatory reporting and tax requirements, GST, and FBT calculations and submissions are completed.Cashflow & Covenants: Maintain accurate cashflow and banking covenant forecasts.Reconciliation & Records: Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and update fixed asset records.Audit Preparation: Prepare the business for financial and PCI DSS audits, and coordinate with auditors. Review and establish policies and procedures, identify gaps and compliance activities needed to meet the required standards.Project work: Play an active role in strategic projects and initiatives.Work closely with members of the finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial information.Will "roll your sleeves up" to support the wider finance team to help plug gaps when required (e.g., covering leave).Drive continuous enhancements to accounting systems and processes.About You: CA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years commercial accounting experience.A comprehensive understanding of New Zealand IFRS and tax legislation.A desire to get involved in projects.A proactive, solutions-focused approach.Solid Microsoft Office skills, including strong Excel; Xero and exposure to NetSuite would be favourable.Strong reporting skills - ability to present, translate and communicate information.A dedication towards continuous improvement.Able to juggle priorities and meet the deadlines of a varied workload.A team player with strong interpersonal skills, who will thrive in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment.Benefits & Rewards: A People-Focused culture, and leadership that trusts and empowers their team.Be part of a rapidly expanding business where your contributions make an impact.Work in a company that values practical solutions and continuous improvement.Mobile phone and monthly phone plan included.CAANZ subscription fees paid.Subsidized health insurance and EAP support.Flexibility to work from home one day a week.Remuneration in the range of $110K - $125K (Neg on experience).This role will deliver huge potential for a person with drive and commitment to get involved and add value to a business.
