Senior Accountant

Excellent commercial entity has a rare opportunity to join their friendly and supportive team in growing their business and supporting them in their future strategy and company direction.

As Senior Accountant, you will be playing a crucial role in the financial management of this organisation. You will be predominantly responsible for overseeing the financial activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyse financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and oversee the budgeting process.
Work with department heads to establish and monitor financial goals.
Prepare financial forecasts and variance analysis.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and ensure their implementation.
Cash Management:
Manage cash flow to optimise working capital.
Oversee banking relationships and transactions.
Team Leadership:
Lead and grow the finance team.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals align with overall business objectives.
Financial Strategy:
Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team.
Contribute to the development and execution of the company's financial strategy.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.
Make recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Tax Management:
Oversee tax planning and compliance.
Coordinate with external tax advisers to ensure accurate and timely filing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA preferred.
Proven experience in a chartered accounting environment or a commercial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Xero.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience: Typically, new qualified to 3 years plus post qualified or qualified by experience.
