Mo te Turanga| About the Role
The Financial Control team keep BNZ safe by providing accurate and timely reporting and insights, while driving and promoting an effective control environment.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Financial and Regulatory Reporting team, based in Auckland.
In this role you will be undertaking financial and management accounting and compliance tasks, in relation to the Banking Group's external financial and regulatory reporting obligations.
Key Tasks:
Assisting in the preparation, review, detailed analysis and reporting of BNZ's semi-annual Disclosure Statements, including BNZ Board and Audit Committee papers.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislative and accounting standard requirements.
Promoting an effective financial control and reconciliation environment by ensuring that appropriate financial controls are in place, documented and operating effectively.
Assessing the impact of change, and implementing improvement opportunities, on statutory and regulatory reporting.

Attributes for Success:
At least 4 years' experience in Financial/Accounting roles in a large corporate or CA environment.
Broad knowledge, experience and understanding of Financial Services operations/industry.
A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and CA Qualification (or equivalent).
Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills.
Success Metrics:
Timely delivery of accurate financial and regulatory reporting, as well as exploring ways to optimise the output produced by the team.
