Security Officer Day and night shifts, working across both North Shore Hospital & Waitakere hospital sites Te Whatu Ora - Waitemata are undertaking major capital works at our rapidly-expanding campuses to help meet unprecedented population growth in the Northern Region of New Zealand. A cornerstone of this expansion programme is the construction of the four-storey Totara Haumaru (Shade of the Tree) hospital building on Auckland's North Shore. This new state-of-the-art facility is being built on our North Shore Hospital campus - overlooking the incredible, volcanically formed Lake Pupuke - just a stone's throw away from our world-famous Waitemata Harbour and some of the region's most spectacular beaches. Totara Haumaru is due for completion in mid-2024 and will provide up to eight extra operating theatres, four new endoscopy suites and up to 150 new beds – helping us meet the needs of our vibrant, fast-growing and culturally diverse population of over 643,000 people. The Hospital Security Team at Te Whatu Ora – Waitemata provide a pivotal service in the daily running of our two hospitals based at North Shore and Waitakere. We are expanding our team to ensure increased security cover of the campus including our brand new surgical facility based at North Shore Hospital - Totara Haumaru. We are looking for a Security Officer to join our team on a permanent, full time basis. The ideal applicant will be an excellent communicator who can deal with others in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner, while remaining calm in high pressure situations. We work 12 hour shifts and 7 days a fortnight, on a rotating roster. You will have a good degree of physical fitness, and the ability to recall accurate information for report writing. Successful applicants to this role are subject to police vetting under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, so a clean criminal record is required, as well as a current NZ driver's licence.
