Full Time Application Closes 23 Oct 2024 Bay of Plenty - Tauranga Computer Security Specialists Mo Tenei Turanga Mahi | About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Security Engineer to protect the Toi Ohomai (TOI) information systems and data from cyber-attacks, potential threats and vulnerabilities.
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of TOI's IT infrastructure.
The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, network administration, and external vendors, to identify risks and strengthen security protocols.
The ideal candidate will stay informed on the latest cybersecurity trends and employ advanced tools and best practices to safeguard TOI from emerging cyber threats.The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,000 and $122,000 (based on 37.5 hours per week), dependent on skills and experience.The Security Engineer based in one of our campuses and will be reporting to the Systems Delivery Manager and will be responsible for: Security Controls: Develop and implement key security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect digital assets.
Monitoring & Incident Response: Continuously monitor for threats and develop response plans to quickly address and mitigate security breaches.
Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and manage remediation efforts to reduce risks.
Security Training: Create and deliver training programs to raise staff awareness on security policies and best practices.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to security standards through regular audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
