Section Head – Health of Older People, Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation (AT&R)Fixed Term until November 2025, Full TimeRemuneration as per PSA Allied Health MECA guidelinesThe Opportunity:We have an opportunity for an experienced allied health professional (Physiotherapist or Occupational therapist) to lead an innovative group of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants that provide inpatient rehabilitation to older people. This role is part of AT&R and is based at Middlemore Hospital.As the Section Head, you will be the lead driver of this group of professionals to ensure that service expectations are met with a focus on the people we care for. You will be part of a team that takes an inter-disciplinary approach to care, working alongside other clinical leaders and senior management to ensure a high standard of care is always provided. This is a unique opportunity to extend and develop your management and leadership experience.To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills. You will bring an innovative approach to resolving issues and work well in an IDT environment. You will be involved in the supervision and development of rotational staff, rehab assistants and allied health students. There is scope for involvement in service development, staff education, and quality improvement.
