We ensure our learners are well-prepared for future employment needs through a blend of hands-on and classroom-based learning.Te aheinga: The opportunityThe Unitec Pathway College (UPC) aims to enhance Unitec's visibility and reputation, attracting prospective students, including secondary-aged students and their key influencers, through schools/kura and other channels. The UPC team is high performing, having significantly improved our relationships with secondary schools and kura kaupapa/kura whanau.As our Secondary School and Community Senior Liaison, you will effectively manage and partner with Secondary Schools, Private Training Establishments, Government agencies, community groups, and Trades Academies to drive student recruitment and increase first-choice consideration through various activities. Please refer to the Position Description for more details about the role.Your success will be driven by your strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and leverage workplace relationships. You'll have:Experience in leading a team.Leadership skills with the ability to coach and guide a team to achieve results.A minimum of 3 years of experience in building and sustaining relationships with external stakeholders.A customer-centric approach with attention to detail and a target-driven mindset.An understanding of tertiary education with a relevant qualification.High energy and drive to engage and inspire individuals and key influencers, with experience in motivating large groups and facilitating youth groups.An understanding or willingness to learn te reo Maori, tikanga Maori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Maori.A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Evidence of active engagement in creating diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments.Experience in programme planning and project/event management, with an understanding of cultural and community issues and the initiative to find solutions and make things happen.Joining Unitec means becoming part of a vibrant and supportive work culture.
