Seasonal Team Members - Boners/Butchers (Skilled) Our plant in Nelson is looking for experienced Butchers/Boners to start immediately on Night Shift.

Responsibilities: Cutting and separating meat into specific standardised cuts and portions using a combination of bandsaws & knives
Bone out/cut carcases to required specification
Removing cuts from carcass sides & quarters, using specified cutting lines whilst obtaining maximum yield
Trim and sort meat to required specification
Identify and isolate product risk/faults and re-work as required
Any other further processing tasks as reasonably required
Knives are kept to an acceptable sharpness and used safely

Further allowances and bonuses are applied depending on production
Monday to Friday with overtime opportunities
Minimum of 30 hours a week, usually 45 hours a week

Minimum Requirements: Previous experience in the meat processing industry
Knife handling and sharpening skills
Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
Have a sound understanding of good hygiene and safety practices
You are eligible to work in New Zealand
You will pass a pre-employment drug test and medical assessment
You are willing and able to follow and respect workplace health and safety
You enjoy working within a team environment
You are physically fit, committed and reliable
