School Office Manager

Hastings Central School – Hastings, North Island
Hastings Central Primary School is seeking a highly organised and dedicated Office Manager to join our supportive and dynamic staff. This is a key role within our school, providing a wide range of administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our school.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the welcoming face of the school, managing front-of-house reception duties such as greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and assisting parents and students with inquiries.
Administer first aid to students as required and provide care for those who are unwell.
Manage and process new enrolments to school and monitor day to day student attendance.
Manage school finances, including using Xero, sending and paying invoices, and assisting with financial records and reports.
Administer medication to students as required, ensuring all procedures are followed correctly.
Assist with purchasing and maintaining staff room supplies, office stationery, and equipment.
Provide general office support as PA to the principal and assisting other staff with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Previous experience in office administration is essential, preferably within a school or educational environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Competent with financial administration, including invoice management and basic accounting.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
A warm and approachable demeanour, with a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of our students.
Knowledge of first aid (or willingness to undertake first aid training).
Familiarity with school management systems and basic IT skills would be an advantage.
