School Counsellor

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherSubjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The ArtsWe are looking for the right person to join our expanding school counselling service. You will work with school leadership teams, rangatahi, and whanau to understand the unique needs of the akonga/learners at the school, including their cultural, social, and emotional needs.Ideally, you will have experience working with tamariki, whanau, and local communities, along with a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You must be able to work collaboratively with staff and agencies to support the wellbeing of students. There is an expectation to not only work with individuals but to also develop and support programmes across the school.The successful candidate will be empathetic, organised, a skilled communicator, and enjoy working with rangatahi. Ideally, they will maintain professional membership and registration with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), or a similar professional association, and comply with their associated Code of Ethics.
