Due to one of our teachers undertaking study leave throughout 2025, we require a fixed term, full-time Scale A teacher to join us for terms 1 - 4. If you are a Provisionally Registered teacher, returning to work full-time, or moving to Wellington, this is an ideal position for you to consider applying for.
Our delightful multicultural U4 kura is based in Newlands where creativity and a sense of belonging are highly valued. We believe our curriculum, supported by our RIDE values, encourages our tamariki to celebrate their success as learners and builds on their curiosity to want to learn more. With over 17 ethnic groups represented in our kura, we feel very privileged to have such a wonderfully diverse school community to work alongside.
The yr 3 & 4 team looks forward to welcoming a new teacher to our school and will work collaboratively to assist with building your pedagogical knowledge if required, especially in the area of Structured Literacy. Likewise, we would love to hear from you about the ways that you can contribute to our school during your time with us.
Currently we are two years into delivering a Structured Literacy Programme (Liz Kane model) as well as having undertaken mathematical upskilling with 'The Learner First' (Rob Proffitt-White). Our Kura Ahurea programme enables us to weave the local stories of Te Atiawa into our classroom programmes. When asked why they enjoy these lessons, alongside te reo, one student replied, "Because it makes my puku feel warm."
Applicants must currently reside in NZ and have current NZ primary teacher registration and be ready to begin as from 28 January 2025.
