Scale A Teacher (2 Positions)

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher
We seek 2 teachers with a strong interest and expertise in teaching akonga with Autism and challenging behaviours to start term 1. 2025.
One position would suit an experienced teacher and we would consider a beginning teacher for the second position. Experienced teachers may be considered for the allocation of management units.
Rosehill is a large, multi-cultural specialist school in South Auckland. We place a strong focus on providing active learning opportunities, applying learning in real settings and culturally inclusive teaching across the curriculum.
The positions will be teaching a small class of primary aged akonga with Autism and challenging behaviours. The class is well supported by teacher aides, behavioural team input and generous resourcing.
Successful experience in a specialist school or experience teaching akonga with ORS funding would be advantageous. Managing a team of 3 teacher aides and working collaboratively with therapists is important.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Primary Teachers' Collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience. An individual's actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
