The role
Reporting to the Delivery Manager (either Transmission or Distribution), the SCADA and Communications Technician will play a crucial role in our team. This is a field-based position undertaking all technical works in a safe and efficient manner. It also requires you to have a technically sound knowledge, able to apply this to problem solving, participating in constructability reviews and developing solutions for customers either independently or in connection with their consultants . This role requires a level of travel generally within but also outside the Central region of Northpower. The base location for the role is flexible and can be at either Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, or Matamata.  What's in it for you?

To be considered for this role, you must be an experienced SCADA Technician with familiarity in the NZ telecommunications industry. Having fibre experience and skillset is an added advantage. Additionally, you should be flexible and able to work afterhours on short notice to complete tasks as needed. You will need to showcase the following:
- Relevant trade qualifications (Diploma, NZCE, or equivalent)
- Preferred current Practising Licence as an Electrician or Service Technician with EWRB registration
- Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements, and the relevant parts of the Safe Manual – Electricity Industry (SE-MI)
- Current Workplace Competency (WTC) as required by the role
- A clean, full NZ driver's licence
- Demonstrated technical experience in SCADA, NZ telecommunications systems, and potentially Fibre networks or systems,
- High computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel and demonstrated knowledge in related proprietary systems
- Ability to deliver high-standard technical service while maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards at all times
- Strong customer focus (both internal and external) About us
