We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Saw Doctor to join our team. The Saw Doctor will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the performance of our sawmill equipment, ensuring the efficient and precise cutting of timber products. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to contribute to the success of Waipapa Pine and be a part of our dynamic and collaborative team.
The hourly rate is $30-35 per hour. The job is 48 hours per week. Hours are Tuesday to Friday, 6am to 6pm. The location is Waipapa, Northland, New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities: Sharpen and set saw blades to achieve optimal cutting performance. Perform regular maintenance on sawmill equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operations. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with sawmill machinery. Collaborate with the production team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of timber products. Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Saw Doctor in a sawmill or similar environment. Knowledge of sawmill machinery, equipment, and tools. Proficiency in sharpening and setting saw blades. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and precision in work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety.
