This role offers you the chance to lead installations, repairs, and maintenance while sharing your expertise with others.Ko ta matou mahi - About the roleAs a Satellite Technical Specialist, you'll play a critical role in protecting our clients' services by maintaining and repairing Kordia and client-owned equipment. You'll lead the assembly, construction, installation, and commissioning of satellite and telecommunications systems. Beyond technical responsibilities, you'll coach less experienced technicians and contractors, ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained.You'll also represent Kordia with pride, professionalism, and confidence, championing our values, promoting our products, and driving health and safety initiatives.Ko to mahi – What you will doMaintenance & Repairs: Efficiently maintain and repair Kordia and client equipment, managing costs within set budgets.Installation Leadership: Lead the assembly, construction, and commissioning of satellite and telecommunications equipment.Team Leadership: Provide coaching and supervision to less experienced technicians and contractors, driving team skill development.Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports, proposals, and recommendations, and ensure timely submission of permits, timesheets, and accurate maintenance records.Process Improvement: Play a key role in developing and enhancing processes, ensuring high standards consistent with Kordia's ISO 9001 accreditation.Brand & Safety Ambassador: Uphold Kordia's reputation by promoting our products and services, and championing health and safety standards.24/7 Support: Participate in a 24/7 on-call system to minimise customer downtime and ensure rapid response to issues.Na tou rourou - What you will bringSatellite systems expertise: Strong knowledge of satellite systems and their operation.REST A or Electrical Equivalent Certification: Essential to ensuring electrical safety and compliance.Leadership abilities: A proven ability to coach, supervise, and direct colleagues and contractors.Problem-Solving & innovation: A proactive approach to solving technical issues and improving team processes.Attention to detail: Exceptional ability to maintain accurate records, prepare clear work plans, and ensure precise updates of technical documents.Roster duties: Availability to participate in a 24/7 on-call roster to support critical operations.Kordia delivers mission-critical technology and network solutions across New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific.
