We've now also partnered with Wellington City Council to operate Takina, Wellington's newest Convention and Exhibition Centre.Are you pro-active in solution selling and generating revenue, coupled with strong negotiation skills and want to be part of a high performing team representing two fantastic venues in Wellington?We have an opportunity for a motivated and experienced hospitality professional to join our dynamic and focused Sales Team in the role of Sales Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract.Reporting to the Manager Venue Sales, you will support the achievement of revenue targets and associated KPI's through maximizing our sales strategy, taking the lead on account regeneration and demand creation plans and building on revenue opportunities for existing accounts.Key responsibilities will include:Drive the account regeneration plan for Te Papa venuesActively focus on demand creation across new market segments with the Account ManagersSupport the account managers in maximizing revenue across their portfoliosImplement sales activity plans to achieve budgeted revenue targets and KPI'sMaintain a complete understanding of the sales vision, products and servicesPromptly and proactively respond to and maximize conversion of new leads, inquiries, and business opportunities.Our ideal candidate will have:Demonstrated pro-active sales historyStrong interpersonal skills.Effective time management and understanding of the sales process.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated negotiation skills and a strong ability to close the sale.The ability to prioritize and manage several different tasks at once.The work across our operation is busy, fast paced and in a fantastic, friendly team environment, so come join us!Further information can be found in the Sales Manager Position Description.Te Papa's three values Whanaungatanga (Teamwork), Manaakitanga (Respect) and Auahatanga (Creativity) are at the centre of how Te Papa works.
