About the role:
We are looking for a Sales Manager – Foodstuffs North Island, who will manage and foster a highly valued relationship with the Foodstuffs North account. Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Retail, you will be based in Auckland and travel regionally in NZ's North Island for 1-2 days per quarter spending time with your field sales team and in stores. This role will own the customer strategy and P&L working closely cross-functionally with marketing, shopper, category, and supply chain as well as the North Island field sales team to ensure the sales plans are flawlessly executed. As a key member of the Retail Sales Lead team, the FSNI Sales manager will support the National Sales Manager – Retail in the delivery of the channel must-win battles.
Take ownership of the FSNI customer account P&L and achievement of our annual financial targets. Effectively forecast and plan promotions with review, check and adjust as needed. Develop the internal customer business plan and external Joint Business Plan. Develop and maintain best-in-class customer engagement and relationships across key head office and key store contacts through regular business reviews and workshops. Collaborate with the Category and Shopper and Brand Marketing Teams to deliver alignment and excellence of execution on all NPD launches, activations, and tailored promotions. Champion of Dunnhumby retail analytics to bring actionable insights to drive accelerated growth and customer-driven value through strong utilisation through the business. Be the voice of the customer internally, sharing customer priorities, news, and key developments through monthly updates. Key requirements: 8+ years of FMCG / consumer packaged goods experience in ANZ markets. 5+ years of key account management experience with proven ability to deliver results with FSNI strongly preferred. Proven track record of leading, coaching and developing field sales teams. Strong analytical skills and data driven with knowledge and use of Nielsen/IRI, Power BI , trade spend management and forecasting tools with Dunnhumby Shop exposure an advantage. Strong commercial acumen having successfully managed and/or led commercial negotiations including price increases, changing terms of trade, category reviews. Exposure to FSNI Leaf and commercial model an advantage. Strong communicator with a proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with other functions, namely, Field Sales, Marketing, Shopper, Finance, Human Resources, Category Management and Supply Chain. Growth mindset, solution-focused with demonstrated resilience, drive, confidence. Experience working in a complex global corporate structure with a regional matrix. What's in it for you?
