Job SummaryEltham Palace Surgery is a well-established GP practice situated within the Eltham Community Hospital, with a list size of 8,000 patients.We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Salaried GP who will join a successful and forward-thinking GP Practice.This role is offered on a 4-6 session basis with a competitive salary of £10,000 - £11,000 per session (depending on experience).What We Offer:Flexible workingSupport and promote areas of specialist interest6 weeks Annual Leave (pro rata per year)1 week Study Leave (pro rata per year)Free on-site parkingHome visiting team provided by our PCNProtected time for Practice Clinical MeetingsQuarterly protected learning time (provided through Greenwich Health)Main Duties of the JobThe post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Clinic Structure3 hour clinical session with a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations1 hour admin time with administrative team providing support with documents, results and referralsAbout UsWe have an experienced multi-disciplinary clinical team consisting of 2 GP Partners, salaried GPs, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists and a highly committed reception/admin team.We adopt a team approach to patient care and endeavour to monitor the service provided to patients, to ensure that it meets current standards of excellence.Clinical Software: EMIS Web / Docman10 / AccuRXJob ResponsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationThe provision of services commensurate with the primary care contractGeneric prescribing adhering to local and national guidanceEffective management of long-term conditionsProcessing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasksOn a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor rolesMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidanceWork collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workloadAdhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit processContribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practiceAccept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOFAttend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as requiredContribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and trainingEnsure compliance with the appraisal processPrepare and complete the revalidation processCommit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice teamSupport the training of medical students from all clinical disciplinesSupport the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditureReview and always adhere to practice protocols and policiesEncourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvementPerson SpecificationQualificationsQualified GPMRCGPVocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGPGeneral Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)Full GMC registrationNational Performers List registration (England), noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmationEvidence of current validationEvidence of last appraisalEligibility to practice in the UK independentlyExperienceExperience of working in a primary care environmentExperience of continued professional developmentExperience of QOF and clinical auditMinimum of two years as a salaried GPGeneral understanding of the primary care contractOutstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GPDesirableExperience of medicines managementExperience of ICB initiativesSkillsExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Strong IT skillsClear, polite telephone mannerCompetent in the use of Office and OutlookEMIS / Systmone / Vision user skillsEffective time management (planning and organising)Ability to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsProblem solving and analytical skillsAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperience with audit and able to lead audit programmesExperience with clinical risk management
