With a dedicated team of 9 General Practitioners (GPs), an Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP), 7 Nurses, and 4 Healthcare Assistants, the practice serves a patient population of approximately 17,000, making it one of the largest medical practices in Doncaster. The practice is committed to delivering exceptional care and operates under the motto, to be the best.Job responsibilitiesJOB TITLE: SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONERREPORTS TO: THE PARTNERS (Clinically)THE PRACTICE MANAGEMENT TEAM (Administratively)HOURS: 6 SESSIONS OVER 3 DAYS (Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays)Key Responsibilities:The core responsibilities of the Salaried GP at GNMG include, but are not limited to, the following:Patient Consultations: Conduct a wide range of consultations, including face-to-face, telephone, and video appointments, in line with the practice schedule.Medical Care Delivery: Provide high-quality medical care to the patient population in accordance with the GMS contract, ensuring effective treatment and patient satisfaction.Autonomous Clinical Decision-Making: Make professional, independent decisions regarding patient care.Prescribing: Adhere to local and national prescribing guidelines.Chronic Disease Management: Proactively manage patients with long-term conditions.Acute Care: Treat acute illnesses and assess patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.Preventative Care, Health Screening and Health Promotion: Engage in health promotion and disease prevention activities.Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans.Counselling and Health Education: Provide patients with counselling and education on health promotion.Patient Management: Admit or discharge patients from your caseload as appropriate.Clinical Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.Administrative Duties: Process administrative tasks in a timely manner.Extended Hours: Undertake appointments during extended contracted hours.On-Call and Duty Doctor Responsibilities: Participate in on-call and duty doctor roles.Audit and Quality Improvement: Collect and analyse data for audit purposes.Medication Management: Prescribe medication as appropriate.Team Collaboration: Fulfil all standard duties associated with a GP.Clinical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and clinical leadership within the practice.Practice Meetings: Attend and contribute to practice meetings.Emergency Care: Provide timely interventions for urgent health issues.Continuous Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.Appraisal and Revalidation: Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.Contractual and Legal Compliance: Ensure that all clinical work is carried out in line with NHS contractual obligations.Person SpecificationQualificationsFull GMC registration with a license to practice.Qualified GP (completing GP Training within 3 months).Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.Evidence of ongoing professional development.Knowledge and skillsStrong clinical skills with the ability to manage a wide range of medical conditions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in managing chronic conditions and acute presentations.Familiarity with clinical systems and digital tools for patient management.ExperienceExperienced GP who is confident and comfortable working autonomously.Ability to work as part of a team with a patient-centred approach to care.Commitment to continuous improvement and development.Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
