We are looking for a Safety Partner, Vehicle Trainer to lead and coordinate all vehicle training programs (forklift, tractor, van) across Mr Apple sites (Post Harvest and Orchards). This role is pivotal in ensuring that all vehicle operators are proficient, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
What you'll be doing:
As the Safety Partner, Vehicle Trainer, you will liaise with key stakeholders in our packhouse, orchards, and coolstores, oversee pre-season training, observing staff that need upskilling. With a strong knowledge of Health and Safety, you will partner collaboratively with business stakeholders, balancing training, facilitation, and documentation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Forklift and Tractor Operations: In-depth knowledge of safety procedures, equipment handling, and maintenance.
Training Facilitation: Ability to design and deliver effective training programs for diverse learning styles.
Safety and Compliance: Understanding of regulations and standards for forklift and tractor operations.
Communication: Clear articulation of complex concepts and safety protocols.
Patience and Empathy: Accommodating varying experience levels.
Adaptability: Flexibility in training methods and materials.
What you'll bring:
Experience with operating forklifts and tractors.
Developing and implementing training programs.
A strong understanding of health and safety (minimum 5 years' experience).
Process-oriented with strong documentation skills.
A people person, skilled in upskilling, building rapport, and growing relationships.
Strong cultural awareness, working within a multicultural work environment.
