We have strong partnerships with other shipping lines, moving cargo across 25 customer destinations in 16 countries.Job DescriptionReporting directly to the Operations Improvement Manager, this dynamic role as Safety Improvement Analyst puts you at the heart of our mission to elevate safety and operational performance across NPDL. You'll be a driving force in enhancing our Port Operations, Dangerous Goods handling, Container Depots, Transport, and Warehousing teams—and more! We're looking for someone passionate about data, eager to lead projects that improve how we capture and report critical information. Your work will be vital in shaping a proactive safety culture by spearheading our audit program and refining our site scoring processes. You'll also collaborate closely with our Health & Safety team on key improvement projects, using your analytical prowess to create meaningful change.What you will be doing:Data Mastery:Own and manage data collection, analysis, and reporting for key areas like Incidents, Near Misses, Observations, Audits, Fatigue Management, and Telemetry.Ensure our data sources are top-notch, with accurate and timely updates across the board.Lead the charge on data standardization efforts, ensuring a unified understanding across NPDL.Analytical Excellence:Provide powerful analytical support to various teams, helping them improve processes and performance.Dive deep into data mining and analysis to identify key drivers and craft solutions that boost performance and mitigate risks.Reporting & Insights:Take the helm of our internal audit program, overseeing questionnaires, scoring, and site evaluations.Deliver regular performance reports to key management forums, including NPDL Senior Management, Group Level, and Site Level meetings.Create impactful reports, dashboards, and KPIs that drive performance improvements and risk reduction.Lead the weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting processes with a commitment to accuracy.Training & Education:Support our teams with ongoing training initiatives, ensuring everyone is equipped with the knowledge they need.Help maintain data integrity efforts across NPDL.QualificationsWhat you will bring to the table:A passion for data and desire to learn. Advanced Excel skills are a must; experience with Power BI is a big advantage.Exceptional analytical skills with experience in developing and implementing KPIs.Proficiency in database management and reporting tools.At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.Strong communication and influencing skills that make you a collaborative team player.Project management experience & experience in writing persuasive business cases would be a bonus.This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland.
