This role sits within All of Government Services Delivery (AoGSD), part of the Digital Public Service Branch (DPS) who bring together the functions that deliver services to or for the public sector and is responsible for an All of Government Portfolio of digital products and ICT Services. The role of the Digital Public Service branch is to work with and through agencies to drive and deliver a customer-centered digital government.
We champion the use of Common Capabilities and centralized essential information products and services across agencies, as well as championing All of Government standards and guidelines.
The Back Office Digital Transformation Service (BoDTS) is one of these centralized services and has been created to reduce the cost, risk, complexity and time taken to deliver back-office systems, through standardised, high quality, all-of-government processes, tools and systems.
The Service provides agencies with a common set of standardised processes and will provide tools to support agencies as they modernise their back-office functions (e.g. HR, Finance, Procurement) making use of previously used collateral and design to streamline the process, to lower cost and risk, and to increase efficiency.
As the technical SaaS Tools Specialist, you will lead the strategy and execution of SaaS tools and products as part of the SaaS/Master-Back Office Library team. Your role will involve working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that the product aligns with user needs and the suitability of Back-office SaaS ERP solutions meet the requirements of the AoG Back Office Design.
Working closely with Marketplace (the repository of technical suppliers), you will provide technical quality assurance reviews of Government agency SaaS procurement and implementations including the assessment of SaaS tools before they are released on Marketplace.
You will be responsible for:
Provide technical leadership for the evaluation and integration of SaaS Tools in accordance with NZ AOG Back-office Design requirementsUnderstand and provide well informed advice on the NZ AOG Back-office Designs and can clearly articulate the benefits of the models to subject matter experts Marketplace and SaaS SuppliersAssessing all SaaS Tools and evaluating the technical suitability of proposed SaaS tools based on technical specifications, schedules and product descriptionsEnsuring that all relevant technical standards and practices are applied and adhered to relevant to the productMonitor SaaS implementation and ensure functionality is correct and quantified in a test environment including managing testing activitiesReview post deployment implementation reference material and complete tool auditAssess if current SaaS tools being utilised in the Back Office Design are still fit for purpose and meet government standardsEstablish and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external technical expertsEstablishing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationship across the BoDT Service teams and promoting the benefits to suppliers with the Back-office Design validation opportunities.Working as part of a newly formed team you enjoy building collaborative relationships and knowledge sharing. To succeed in this role you will have:
An in depth understanding of ERP SaaS tools and the application of these to meet business requirementsExperience with implementation of ERP solutions in a complex environmentProven experience in providing high quality documentation and communications (verbal & written) within a project or programme including end to end process flowsExperience in the identification and endorsement of SaaS tools and technology solutions in a large and complex environmentExcellent communication, facilitation and engagement skillsThe ability to easily translate technical terms to a non-technical audienceExcellent relationship building skills and will ensure collaborative and inclusive relationships are built and managed across internal and external teamsAn ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisationExcellent planning and organisational skillsExceptional problem solving and analysis skillsA desire to be part of a high performing team and winning culture.The Back office Digital Transformation Service (BoDTS) exists to reduce the cost, risk, complexity and time taken to deliver back-office systems, through standardised, high quality all-of-government processes, tools and systems.
